All Life is a film directed by Valentina Cenni, born from the encounter between Stefano Bollani and an extraordinary ensemble of jazz musicians. It tells the story of a rare experience: a week-long artistic residency at Palazzo Lantieri in Gorizia, where some of the most important Italian jazz musicians gather far from stages and touring to share time, listening, and improvisation. Alongside Stefano Bollani are Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Daniele Sepe, Antonello Salis, Ares Tavolazzi, and Roberto Gatto, together with young talents Matteo Mancuso, Christian Mascetta, and Frida Bollani Magoni. Days and nights of rehearsals, conversations, insights, games, and moments of shared life lead toward a unique and unrepeatable concert, while the camera observes up close the birth of music. Valentina Cenni’s direction approaches the musicians with discretion, following the creative process in its freest form: improvisation as listening, as relationship, as a collective gesture. The cinematography by Luca Bigazzi and the editing by Stefano Mariotti accompany this journey, allowing the natural rhythm of encounter and creation to emerge. Two complementary projects were born from this experience: the film All Life and the album Tutta Vita Live, produced by Alobar and distributed by Ponderosa. The album was recorded live during the concert at the Teatro Politeama Rossetti in Trieste on February 17, 2025, the culminating moment of the cinematic story. Yet the album is not the film’s soundtrack: the music of the live performance begins where the film ends, continuing that shared experience of collective creation.
